Specification:
The LTC4150 can measure battery consumption and charging in handheld PC and portable product applications. The device monitors the current flowing through an external sense resistor located between the positive terminal of the battery and the battery load or charger. A voltage-to-frequency converter converts the current sense voltage into a series of output pulses on the interrupt pin. These pulses correspond to a certain amount of fixed charge flowing into or out of the battery. The device can also indicate the polarity of the charge during battery consumption and charging.
The LTC4150 is aimed at applications that use single or two lithium-ion batteries, and 3 to 6 NiCd or NiMH batteries.
Application:
battery charger
Palmtop and PDA
Fengwo phone and wireless modem
