The NetEngine40E series universal service router (NE40E) is a family of high-end network products that are usually deployed at the edges of Internet Protocol (IP) backbone networks, IP Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), and other large-scale IP networks. The NE40E, ME60, NE20E-S and NE5000E together provide a complete, layered IP network solution.
The NE40E can be flexibly deployed at the edge or core of IP or MPLS networks, simplifying the network structure. With its ability to provide an extensive range of services with reliable service quality, the NE40E is enabling IP and MPLS bearer networks to develop greater broadband capacity and to become more secure, intelligent, and service-oriented. Based on distributed hardware forwarding and non-blocking switching
technologies, the NE40E features line-rate forwarding capability, a well designed Quality of Service (QoS) mechanism, strong service processing capability, and excellent expansibility. The NE40E is based on a 400G platform and provides 100G line cards to satisfy increased demand for bandwidth. Compatible with all line cards currently in use, the NE40E minimizes the need for additional investments.

The CR52MPUD (03030KKR) of the NE40E-X3 can be configured with two CF cards and the maximum capacity of a single CF card can be 1 GB.
By default, the CR52MPUD is already attached with one 1 GB CF card. During configuration, you must configure another CF card. The CF card with the BOM number being 02316042 is recommended.
The CR52MPUD2 contains CF cards. Customers do not need to purchase additionally.
The CR52MPUD (03030KKR) of the NE40E-X3 has one memory slot and supports single DDR2 memory cards of a maximum of 2 GB.
By default, the CR52MPUD is already attached with a 2 GB memory card. You do not need to purchase the memory card independently during the contract configuration.
The CR52MPUD2 contains 2 GB DDR3 memory cards. Customers do not need to purchase additionally.
CR52-MPUD does not support USB disks. CR5D0MPUD170 supports 2G USB and it is contained and need not to be configured.
