Product Introduction:
Banana Pi BPI-M6 is a new generation of single-board computers launched by the Banana Pi community in 2022. It uses Synaptics VS680 quad-core Cortex-A73 (2.1GHz) and a Cortex-M3 processor, Imagination GE9920 GPU. NPU has a computing power of up to 6.75 tops. Onboard 4GB LPDDR4 memory and 16GB EMMC storage, support 4 USB 3.0 interfaces, 1 Gigabit network port. Onboard 1 HDMI-rx port and 1 HDMI-tx port.
Synaptics VideoSmart™ VS680 solution, an industry-first edge computing SoC, combines CPU, NPU and GPU. This new multimodal platform integrates a neural network accelerator and is a smart chip built specifically for applications such as smart displays, smart cameras, set-top boxes and media streaming media. It also integrates a high-performance Imagination PowerVR Series9 GPU. Another new feature is that the ISP has HDR function and can handle two 4K cameras. Previous VideoSmart products targeted the streaming video set-top box (STB) market, but the VS680 is aimed at a wider range of smart home devices. It's a good fit for smart displays like Facebook Portal that can make video calls. The audio processor can drive a smart speaker or sound bar, but when combined with DLA, it can handle on-device voice functions in addition to providing a front end for cloud-based digital assistants. DLA works with dual ISPs to run neural networks on video streams from the front and rear cameras, enabling tasks such as facial recognition, object recognition, and security monitoring. The Qdeo engine can drive two displays, allowing the device to power a 1080p touchscreen panel in a set-top box while streaming media to a 4K TV.
